Saved recipes
When you save a recipe, its page identifier is stored in this browser using local storage. It stays here until you remove it or clear browser data. When email sign-in is available, saving while signed in stores the recipe in your account so it is available on other devices. Device saves are separate. The HttpOnly cz_reader cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days.
Cooking progress and intro preferences
Session storage remembers your servings, units, checked ingredients, cooking step and timers in this tab, as well as whether you have seen the opening animation. Use Reset recipe progress to clear cooking progress.
Comments and replies
Using the comment form sets a first-party cookie, cz_guest, lasting up to one year to help limit duplicate submissions. We store a hashed guest identifier, display name, email address, optional website, message, optional rating and moderation status. Your email is available only to staff for managing your contribution and is never displayed publicly or added to a mailing list without your separate consent. Approved names, website links, comments and replies appear publicly. Do not include private information in your message. When offered, reply emails require a separate opt-in and email confirmation. Each notification includes an unsubscribe link. Pending and rejected contributions are visible only to staff; contact us to request removal of a contribution.
Recipe videos
Recipe videos use embedded YouTube players in privacy-enhanced mode. Players may load as you approach the video section, sharing connection information with YouTube. Videos do not start automatically. When you play a video, YouTube may store data on your device. Its privacy practices apply.
Search and page requests
Search words and filters appear in the page address and are sent to the website to display results. Like other page requests, these addresses may appear in browser history and hosting logs. Avoid entering private information into recipe search.
Contacting us
If you email us, your email provider and ours process the message. We use the details you choose to send to handle your enquiry.
External websites
Social links take you to another website. That website’s privacy practices apply after you follow the link.
Advertising, analytics and newsletters
This version has no advertising tags or third-party visitor analytics. When newsletter signup is offered, we store your email, consent time and confirmation status. We send recipe emails only after confirmation. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Email delivery is processed by our configured email provider; provider and operator details will be completed before activation.
Managing your data
You can remove individual saved recipes or clear this website’s storage in your browser settings. This will remove your saved collection on this device. Staff sign-in uses separate authentication cookies for the management area.
